Herizons is a quarterly Canadian feminist magazine that covers gender justice, the activists and artists making it happen, and the global feminist movement. Herizons brings readers social and political commentary with an intersectional approach, interviews with leading authors, musicians and agitators and feminist news at a glance.
Herizons is published in Winnipeg and distributed throughout Canada. The magazine’s provocative, insightful contributors offer insights on issues such as racial and gender justice and the legal system, progressive politics, Canada’s colonial past and present, feminist issues such as violence against women, girls and non-binary people, environmental concerns and popular culture–to name a few.

Originally published under the name The Manitoba Women’s Newspaper in Winnipeg, Manitoba, starting in 1979, Herizons published its first magazine edition in 1983 and by 1985 it had grown to become national in scope and readership. The magazine went into hiatus from March 1987 to March 1992, at which time it was resurrected by two former staff people (Patricia Rawson the Penni Mitchell) who were joined by a group of feminist volunteers in publishing the magazine. Herizons, which is published quarterly, marked its 25th anniversary in 2017.

Feminist-informed, timely articles that inform and inspire readers about social justice and feminist news. Interviews with leading feminists and articles that delve into current feminist topics. Herizons publishes interviews with change-makers, journalistic articles, plenty of book reviews and short “nelliegrams” or news shorts on positive social justice accomplishments.  Herizons has a special focus on arts and culture, political affairs and legal strides affecting racial and sexual equality and articles on Indigenous rights, LGBTQ2+ equality rights and other human rights issues in Canada.

Herizons licenses articles for one-time rights at a rate of .30 cents per word Cdn. Payment is upon publication. Herizons publishes 4 times per year, winter, spring, summer and fall, and lead time is at least 3 months.
